When I teach trig ratios in geometry, I like to give my students lots of practice in different ways. I like to get out the individual whiteboards and use this powerpoint for a little quick practice.
The first two slides of the powerpoint give a quick review. I’ve found that students often have a hard time deciding when to use the inverse function. I try to remind them at any chance I can.
Then, I give them a quick reminder of the SohCahToa acronym and the trig ratios.
Then, there are some slides with practice problems. After each practice problem, there is a worked out solution. It is super handy to have the solutions already typed out. That way, I can walk around the classroom helping students while everyone else can check their work.
